The Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm will be the first large-scale offshore wind power project of Iberdrola in Brittany.
The project is owned by Iberdrola and the turbines for the Saint Brieuc offshore wind farm will be made by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE). Van Oord will transport and install the 62 jacket foundations and the offshore substation.
Each turbine will be 207 metres high and their blades almost 82 metres in length. This will deliver a swept area that is 18% larger than previous models and will generate 20% more annual power compared to their predecessor. The wind farm will generate enough energy to power 835.000 households.
