Borssele III & IV is the first offshore wind farm in the Netherlands on which 9.5 MW turbines are used.
The Blauwwind consortium has won the tender to build the offshore wind farm. This consortium consists of Partners Group, Shell, Eneco, DGE and Van Oord. Van Oord is responsible for the Balance of Plant (BoP) activities. These activities are engineering, supply and construction of the foundations and connecting cables.
The wind farm consists of 77 wind turbines that produce 731,5 megawatts of renewable energy. In other words, they supply 825.000 households of sustainable energy. The Aeolus installed 77 foundations in a period of only 6 months.
