The Hollandse Kust Noord wind farm will consist of 69 super powerful wind turbines.
The project is owned by CrossWind, a joint venture between Shell and Eneco. They will develop and operate the wind farm subsidy-free. Our client, Van Oord, is responsible for the Balance of Plant. This means that they are responsible for the engineering, procurement, construction, transportation and installation of the foundations, inter-array cables and wind turbines.
The wind farm is located 18,5 kilometers off the west coast of the Netherlands near the town of Egmond aan Zee. Once fully operational, it has a capacity of 759 MW and will generate at least 3,3 TWh per year.
