The Norther offshore wind farm has been built in a record construction time.
The wind farm is owned by three parties: Nethys SA, Eneco and Mitshubishi Corporation. Van Oord was the main contractor and responsible for the complete Balance of Plant (BoP). The monopiles and transition pieces were built by SIF and Smulders were responsible for building the substation.
The wind farm consists of 44 wind turbines that produce 370 megawatts of renewable energy. In other words, this is enough to supply 400.00 households of sustainable energy. The wind farm has been constructed in a record time. Because it took on 9 months after the first installation activities for the full installation to be completed.
